Have you ever wanted to know how early man and prehistoric people made their survival tools? Have you ever wanted to learn about flint knapping? Well now you can as we've teamed up with Dr. James Dilley, an experimental archaeologist and craftsman, specialising in prehistoric technologies.

During the day James will coach you through the principles of flint knapping and the various steps involved in producing a variety of primitive stone tools in addition to the history and importance of these processes in the evolution of our species. Flint is provided on the day and you'll get to take home the stunning tools you make.

When you arrive..

You will be greeted in the car park by our instructors, and we'll cover some necessary information. We'll then take a walk into the woods where we will be based at our expedition style camp. The fire will be lit and there will be plenty of hot and cold water for refreshments.

Flint Knapping Day Course

During the day James will coach you through the principles of flint knapping and the various steps involved in producing a variety of primitive stone tools, in addition to the history and importance of these processes in the evolution of our species. The day is progressive, building on the skills shown in the morning to develop your technique throughout the day.

Flint and the tools required are provided on the day and you'll get to take home the stunning tools you make.
