  • Course Duration: 09.00 - 13.00 OR 14:00-18:00
  • Course Location: Rowsley Peak District National Park OR Edinburgh Group size: 8 Maximum
  • Age Range: 16+

Join us on this workshop as we bring two quintessential bushcraft skills together in the form of cordage and leatherwork to create your very own piece of Lapland craftwork, in the form of a Sami leather pouch. It is simple to do, looks and feels beautiful, very useful and will last a lifetime.

The indigenous Sami people have been crafting leather pouches for thousands of years, as they still do today, traditionally used to store meat, coffee, salt and flour. Your finished article will also make a brilliant general storage pouch ideal for any small items you wish to store, from fire sets to food. It will be strong but lightweight and very durable.

Suitable for people of all levels, this workshop is easy to follow, with nothing too complicated to sew and you'll have something really useful to use at the end of it. All tools and materials to take part in the workshop are provided.

This course is for over 16's although under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. Workshops are held at our World Of Bushcraft Centre in the Peak District, OR our city centre venue in Edinburgh where free tea and coffee will be available.
