The Condor Nessmuk Knife carries forward the tradition of practical, hard-use blades built for life in camp and on the trail. With its wide belly, this knife excels as a skinner and slicer, while the full tang construction gives it the strength to handle fire prep, food processing, and the endless small chores that define outdoor living. The blade is forged from blasted satin carbon steel for durability and performance, paired with a tough hardwood handle shaped for comfort in extended use. Each knife is hand-crafted in El Salvador and comes with a sturdy dark brown leather sheath.

The design owes its legacy to the writings and experiences of George Washington Sears (1821–1890), better known by his pen name Nessmuk. A pioneering outdoor writer and adventurer, Sears promoted the idea of “woodcraft” in the late 19th century—a philosophy of travelling light, respecting nature, and relying on skill rather than sheer equipment. His beloved trio of tools consisted of a small double-bit hatchet, a folding pocketknife, and the now-famous fixed-blade “Nessmuk” knife. Characterised by its sweeping belly and modest size, the Nessmuk knife was not meant to be a heavy chopper but a versatile slicer for skinning, butchering, and general camp use.

By carrying the Condor Nessmuk, you’re holding a modern interpretation of one of the most influential knife designs in American outdoor history—an heir to Sears’ vision of simple, efficient tools crafted for a life lived close to the land.
