Over 5,000 years ago, high in the Ötztal Alps on the border of Italy and Austria, a man now known as Ötzi the Iceman met his end. Preserved in ice for millennia, his discovery in 1991 gave archaeologists an unprecedented window into the daily life, skills, and survival of our distant ancestors. Among his most fascinating possessions was a simple yet essential tool—a flint-bladed dagger fixed to a wooden handle. To Ötzi, it was more than a knife; it was life itself, a companion in hunting, crafting, and protection.

The Condor Ötzi Knife draws its inspiration from that ancient tool, honouring a piece of human history that connects us all. Though the blade is not flint, it is forged from 1075 high carbon steel—tough, resilient, and far less prone to chipping, making it a worthy descendant of its Stone Age predecessor.

Its handle is crafted from American Hickory, bound with wire in a nod to primitive artistry and function. The knife comes housed in a hand-fitted leather neck sheath, paired with a knotted leather cord, so it can be carried close—just as Ötzi might once have done.

This is more than a knife. It is a tribute to our shared past, to a man whose frozen remains remind us how deeply our survival has always been tied to the tools we carry.
