Mora Companion Knife All Colours Stainless Steel
The Mora Companion knife is a great option for the average Bushcrafter. These relatively cheap knives offer all the characteristics you'll need to carry out most Bushcraft tasks, from carving and splitting wood to preparing food, and many other jobs.
It has a three quarters tang (the blade goes on 3/4 of the way through the handle) which makes it a good quality strong knife, while keeping the weight down, with no cold handle in winter. It is a cheaper option for a bushcraft knife rather than spending hundreds of pounds on your first knife. It has a Scandinavian grind, which is one of the easiest grinds to sharpen, with a high friction grip on the handle, ideal for game preparation. It is well worth buying a knife of this price to begin your bushcraft techniques.
- Blade: Stainless steel or Carbon steel (select from the drop down box)
- Blade length: 104 mm
- Blade Thickness 2.5mm
- Hardness: 57HRC
- Sheath: Thermoplastic with belt clip and drain hole
The colours available are:
- Dala Red (stainless only)
- Burnt Orange (stainless only)
- Olive Green, though we'd say Lime green! (stainless only)
- Fluorescent Orange (stainless only)
- Military Green (Carbon or Stainless Steel)
Advantages: Good quality strong knife. A cheaper option for a first bushcraft knife and robust enough to split wood using a baton. The blade is a Scandinavian grind, and is made from stainless steel which makes it resistant to rusting. It has a high friction grip handle making it ideal for use in game preparation. Their bold colour is easy to spot on the woodland floor or in the bottom of your rucksack and ideal for working with groups both young and old as the bright colour is highly visible.
Disadvantages: We struggled with this to be honest as it is such a cracking piece of kit. OK- it may not look as nice as some of the knives with fancy wooden handles but we go for function not style... The sheath supplied clips onto a belt rather than sliding on to it so it can be prone to coming off the belt. There are better knife steels available, but not at this price point!
It is illegal to supply a knife to anyone under the age of 18. Woodland Ways actively checks the details of all orders for knives, and other edged items. Should we be unable to confirm your eligibility, you will be asked to provide proof of age in the form of a photocopy of your drivers licence or passport.
Please include your phone number with your order.
