Stabilising is a process where the wood is dried and submerged in a heat curing resin. It is then put under vacuum where all of the air will escape from the wood and be replaced with the resin. After some time then spent under pressure, the wood is baked to cure the resin. This means it's more durable, more dense, less prone to absorbing moisture and more resilient to cracking, as well as being beautiful!
