The Marttiini Condor Junior is purpose-built as an ideal first knife for children, combining Marttiini’s long tradition of Finnish knife-making with modern safety features. Designed for young adventurers beginning their journey into bushcraft, camping, or woodcraft, it offers the real experience of using a proper knife while reducing the risks associated with a child’s first blade.

The rounded tip is its most important feature, preventing puncture wounds and tip-related accidents while still providing a sharp cutting edge for real carving and camp use. Made from Marttiini’s stainless chromium steel, the blade is easy to maintain, resists corrosion, and holds a keen edge. At 8 cm, it is compact and controllable, scaled perfectly for smaller hands.

The ergonomic rubber handle is specially designed for children, with a reduced size that sits comfortably in junior hands. Its textured surface, combined with a protective finger guard, ensures a safe, firm grip—even in wet or cold conditions. The rubber also stays pleasantly warm to the touch, making it practical in all weathers.

Every proper knife deserves a proper sheath, and the Condor Junior comes with a handmade leather sheath. Sturdy and well-fitted, it keeps the knife secure when not in use. As with all Marttiini sheaths, it is cut and stitched with care, reinforced with rivets and fitted with an internal liner for added safety to ensure the risk of the knife slicing through the sheath is reduced.

THIS KNIFE WILL ONLY BE SOLD TO ADULTS

Key Safety Tips for Parents

  • Teach safe carving positions: Carve away from the body, with hands kept behind the blade at all times.

  • Create a safe workspace: Ensure your child has space to focus without distractions or other children nearby.

  • Sheathing discipline: Make returning the knife to its sheath part of the routine whenever the knife is not in use.

  • Care and respect: Teach cleaning and drying the blade as part of safe use, instilling pride in looking after tools.
