Netherton Foundry Crochta Pan 10 inch

It is hard to find any history of these pans on the internet, but anecdotal evidence has thrown up several stories of their being used in Norfolk, of their use in so-called blackhouses in the Hebrides as well as Devon, Ireland and as far afield as Hungary. Crochta is the Irish word for hanging.

Based on traditional frying pans, the crochta pan has an arched handle with hanging ring and a useful pouring spout.  Made from pre-seasoned spun iron, these are sturdy, but not too heavy.
Originally designed to be used hanging over a fire, these pans are equally at home on the hob.

  • Made in Britain.
  • PTFE & PFOA free - absolutely no chemicals, no plastic.
  • Pre-seasoned with flax oil for a natural non-stick finish
  • Durable 99.1% pure iron pan with pouring spout
  • Sturdy, riveted arch handle
  • Hanging ring, with 360º swivel makes it ideal for use over open fires
  • Suitable for high temperature frying & browning

Dimensions:
Weight 3lbs (1.36kg), 10'' (25.5cm) rim diameter, 8" (20cm) base diameter, 9'' (23cm) from base of pan to the top of the hanging ring.

Why choose a pre- seasoned pan ?
