These fire steels from StrikeFire really are an essential piece of kit when your off on your bushcraft exploits.
Once the black safety covering has been scraped off all you have to do is scrape the striker down the steel at approximately a 45 degree angle and you will be provided with a shower of sparks coming off at over 2000 degrees C! Each striker lasts approximately 12,000 strikes and can be used to ignite natural tinders as well as camping stoves, cotton wool and even alcohol hand gel! The striker seen in the first photo is an older version, the new version (second photo) is much better!
Please be aware, this listing is for some StrikeFire Fire Steel Seconds. During the manufacturing process, the moulding of the handle didn't come out as desired, and so they cannot be sold at full retail price. The striker and ferrocerium rods themselves are in perfect condition, and the moulding doesn't affect their use. The same great fire lighting performance, just at a cheaper price!
